#1565: Eric Dubay

Dubay busted "using Masonic 666
Hand Sign", according to critics who
conclude that he is part of the Conspiracy.
So it goes in these circles.
We have a bit of a hard time determining whether this is parody, but if it is, it is pretty thorough, so much so that Eric Dubay would probably not mind being identified as a loon either. Dubay runs a website called The Atlantean Conspiracy: Exposing the Global Conspiracy from Atlantis to Zion, a name that remarkably doesn’t even begin to suggest the level of insanity of its the contents (though it points you in the right direction). In fact, it is impossible to do justice to the range of amazing insanity on that website, so we will have to give you a link: Here it is. Dubay is also pretty active on youtube.

The latest article posted when we last checked was “Santa Claus the magic mushroom”, which seems to argue that our Christmas celebrations originated in worship of the mushroom amanita and its potent drug effect (not recommended) that allows you to contact the Gods within you: “Santa, an anagram for Satan, dresses in red, keeps lists of naughty/nice children, and seems to steal Christmas from Jesus. But if understood in its original mushroom context, Santa’s not a conniving, omniscient, list-keeper. He’s an Entheogen – a plant or substance which is said to ‘generate the God within.’” (The naughty list refers to bad trips: “If you have mischief, wickedness, or secrecy in you, then entheogens will take you down into the depths of your own hell.”)  The article, which quotes heavily from Cannabis Culture, is remarkably incoherent (it consists primarily of long quotes interspersed with Dubay’s own notes that often bear little obvious relation to the content of the quote or anything else) but in passing makes some fascinating claims, such as “the word Christmas originally comes from the Egyptian KRST (oiled/anointed one) and Mes, the sacred cakes annually made/ingested by the Egyptians.

The previous article was “Ape-Men Never Existed!”, which argues that the theory of evolution is a fraud because of Ernest Haeckel’s embryos: All contemporary archaeology supporting the existence of early hominids can be linked to Haeckel, which is proof enough for Dubay that everything is a conspiracy and evolution is bunk. He has previously argued that dinosaurs never existed either. Heck, Dubay even has “proof” that the Earth is flat and motionless and has self-published a book, 200 Proofs Earth is Not a Spinning Ball, and no: He doesn’t know what “proof” means. But yes: Eric Dubay is a flat-earther, and if you believe the Earth is flat then, really, everything is up for grabs. We have to mention a comment from one of his fans: “Simply outstanding work! I have been debating with multiple trolls and a few real people for like 3 days now after mentioning the flat earth in the natural news comments,” something “even prompted Mike Adams to take an indirect jab at all of us in one of his latest articles.” Apparently Mike Adams is considered a representative of the mainstream scientific establishment. Which sort of puts Dubay’s fan base in perspective.

Dubay also links to David Duke’s website and has argued that Hitler was really a nice guy who is just misunderstood by the contemporary world: “Adolf Hitler was actually a vegetarian, animal-lover, an author, an artist, a political activist, economic reformer and nominated for a Nobel Peace prize. He enacted the world's first anti-animal cruelty, anti-pollution, and anti-smoking laws. Unlike the demonic portrait that the ‘allies’ painted of him, Hitler was beloved by his people, he wanted nothing but peace, and never ordered the extermination of a single Jew.” The bad rep is really due to a conspiracy created and promoted by the “Jew world order”.

So, yes: According to Dubay, the Earth is flat, Hitler was a nice guy, and the Jews control everything. He also has articles on Atlantis, HAARP, global warming conspiracies, the Freemasons, out-of-place artifacts, chemtrails, FEMA concentration camps, the moon landing hoax and numerology (and he really focuses on the most familiar and inane line of argument in each and every case). But all of that really pales in comparison.

Diagnosis: Worth a visit. Eric Dubay is possibly the craziest and most delusional person on the Internet, and that is something of an accomplishment.

    1. Please people, look at these guys stats. They have limited education, marginal if any understanding on even the most rudimentary level og basic math or physics and the followers are in lockstep. Simple test for the uneducated. . . Get on a train moving at 300 moles per hour. Stand and throw a ball in the air. By flat earth calculations, the ball should fly backwards to the back of the car. Why does it not? Answr this and you will fully understand why this guys ideas have little merit.

  4. You think 1000 mph is fast to the Earth? How big is 1 MILE to Earth? Idiot. It's like me going 1000 centimeters a minute... freakin slow.

  5. Ten years ago I had never seen any of these flat Earth videos on You Tube but all of a sudden they seem to have been popping up like mushrooms and it's turning into a plague. Dubay seems to be the catalyst for all this. He claims to be educated and very knowledgeable and he makes a big point of it. Well, if that's the case he KNOWS full well that he is perpetrating a heinous fraud and con-job on the public and he really should be thoroughly ashamed of himself.
But what are his motives? Does he earn a lot of money for peddling his nonsense?
I feel there must be more to him than mere lunacy- he's employing very manipulative techniques and I would put him in the Jim Jones category. Be very wary of this guy.

  7. Many of us are 'ripe' and susceptible to wacko theories due to our natural sense and awareness of being screwed by "dark forces", which are really nothing more than corporate scumbags that screw the average citizen for the sake of greed and power.

  8. Maybe education in America is so bad that people crave something, anything that will be enlightening...and latch on to pseudoscience, pseudoeducation.

  13. For everyone reading and/or leaving these posts...your only contentions to claims made by Eric Dubay are attacks on his character (name calling) and the same goes for anyone who posts anything supporting him... This is a childish, immature, non-scientific methodology to assess a debate... At least Eric Dubay has the intellectual capacity to conduct research and support his claims by reason, experiment, or research...something that you name callers do nothing of... His word is not gospel, he makes correct claims and he makes some that are incorrect, like Every Other Human Being... The only people that are truly pathetic are all of you who attack his character as proof against his claims...it really shows the stupidity of you guys more than it shows how Eric Dubay makes heinous claims... This also is a clear indicator that you guys are in fear of his validity by forming groups to ridicule his character just as any organization that is faulty or wrong (politicians) would do...but this is science and you guys are using Politician's Tactics to achieve validity...and the rest of you just follow along because it's always easier to be on the bullying team...and that's the extent of your people's scientific capabilities...Name Calling, Politician Tactics, and Bullying...the rest of you just follow... To me I'd say that you guys are the Scum...well, you definitely fit the definition and play the role????

    1. And what exactly has Eric Dubay got right? has he ever produced a peer-reviewed report that is accepted by people who have the qualifications to either support or denounce his claims? almost all of which would denounce his claims as mindless ramblings. As they do not hold up to reality.

the reality is, Eric Dubay has no credibility towards his name, and neither do his claims hold any validity, the only reason why people ridicule him, is because he brings on himself.

I guess it's easier to point the finger at others, but never at the person that brings it upon themselves.

  14. Don't cheat the UK of winding the coo coo clock! Modern flat Earth originated with a Brit: Samuel Rowbotham, and carried forward by another, Samuel Shenton. And Europe is home to many crackpots, such as UFO prophet and hubcap photographer Billy Meier.
America just has more of everything: good, bad and loony.

  15. Eric Dubay is doing this knowing it is wrong. One of his arguments that earth is flat goes "the horizon always rises to eye level". The real world pilot Wolfie6020 has demonstrated how this is absolutely not the case, at 40000 feet the horizon is three degeres below level. When Wolfie6020 confronted Wric Dubay with this, Eric deleted his comment. One can infer Eric sees a business model in tricking ignorant people into spending money on his bogus books.

  18. I think he has made a great effort to show how everything is a lie. I also believe if you just use common sense, for example seeing where the stars are every night, that the spin of the earth, gravity and all the rest including the moon missions is all a big fabrication to minimize God as our creator. Remember the majority in history has always been wrong.

  19. The declination of the Pole Star or any other object is simply a result of the Law of Perspective. The Law of Perspective dictates that the angle and height at which an object is seen diminishes the farther one recedes from the object, until at a certain point the line of sight and the seemingly uprising surface of the Earth converges to a vanishing point (i.e. the horizon line) beyond which the object is invisible.
